Princess Cruises has developed a ship-within-a-ship suite category on the recently debuted Sun Princess and its sister, the Star Princess, which is due out in October 2025.
The Sanctuary Collection will include exclusive access to the ship's top-deck retreat area, exclusive private dining and relaxation areas, the Princess Premier bundle, and what the line described as a "luxurious" stateroom experience. The collection will debut in October when the Sun Princess begins sailing from Fort Lauderdale.
The Sanctuary Club onboard the Sun Princess will be reserved exclusively for Sanctuary Collection guests and will be accessible via a private entry. Access will be limited to those 16 years old and up. The area includes lounge furniture, private cabanas, a pool and hot tub, soothing music, beverages and light fare. Princess promises there will be attentive service.
What's included in the Sanctuary Club
The Sanctuary Club will also feature exclusive programming, like sunrise yoga and sail-away receptions.
Sanctuary guests will have access to an exclusive restaurant with a custom chef's menu, dedicated waitstaff and dining room. No reservations will be required.
The new suite collection includes three stateroom types: the Signature Collection Suites, Mini Suites and Premium Deluxe Balconies. Guests will also have priority access to specialty restaurant reservations and premium stateroom amenities.
"Our new Sanctuary Collection offers guests those ultra-private, tucked away spaces that rival any high-end resort and surpasses the offerings of comparable cruise lines featuring similar ship-within-a-ship amenities," said John Padgett, president of Princess Cruises.
Sanctuary Collection staterooms on both the Sun and Star ships went on sale April 23. Guests who had already booked Sanctuary Collection staterooms as of this date will receive the additional amenities at no additional cost, excluding the Premiere bundle.
The Premiere bundle includes the Premier beverage package, four-device WiFi, specialty dining credits, photo package and Princess Prizes credit.
This is the latest tinkering Princess has done to its product in recent weeks. Beginning this September, Princess will allow guests on all ships to dine any time they choose in the main dining rooms -- traditional seatings, nightly reservations or walk-in.
